the hiding presidents.
Happy Earth Day! What are some of your favorite ways to reduce, reuse and recycle?
The electricity in my home is from 100% WIND power. (Your local energy provider might offer a similar option.)
I do not own a car, take public transport only. For shorter trips, a kick scooter.
(Just recently, so maybe this does not count.)
I reduced my meat consumption by maybe 80% or so...
trying to eat local food...
hmm...
maybe I am not doing enough.
hmm...
If you could eat anything you wanted, and not have to worry about gaining weight/being unhealthy/inhumane, what would you totally pig out on?

Have you ever Googled your own name? How did you feel about the results?
Submitted by elen.
yes, for a while i used to be the #1 witold on google. my site has some 4000 or so pages and i guess that helped.
google recently banned my entire site, so i am no longer #anything there. it actually felt very liberating when i found out. i guess for the same reason i like vox so much. it allows me to be more intimate with that posting thing... (as i make this entry public.)
: )
How many computers do you have in your house?
Submitted by Foomper.
hmm, there is a mac mini in my little office and then there is the mac book pro that just keeps floating around the house and often shows up in strange places.
but there are also other tiny devices that could probably be seen as computers? i still have my palm tungsten t3, though it has been sleeping for over a year now, and might be a bit dead?
there is a powerbook 100 under my bed. it was a great and full working little computer, until i turned it on earlier this year. some capacitator must have blown. the little guy is a mint in box body right now.
there is the regular cell phone, somewhere...
there is a nintendo ds
i also have a psp.
the rice cooker also has some fuzzy logic. so it might count as a computer, perhaps?
does nabaztag count as a computer?
i do not have a tv.
What are your top 25 most played songs?
Submitted by Cooxie.
i recently migrated to a new mac and chose to not trasfer my files automatically. so my new itunes has barely any albums in it and my 25 most played songs are probably from the latest beck album (yes, it has less than 25 tracks.)
so on that other mac (which is a backup of my old powerbook) the top song is still parlor window by elizabeth harper, played almost 80 times.
i think the most up to date list of recently played songs is probably over at my last.fm (or audioscrobbler) page.
hmm... maybe that's also not 100% exact stuff.
oh well...
What's your favorite thing to shop for?
Submitted by JadedButterfly.
(okay, i think the answer is) books.
and strange little things in forgotten shops in cities far away, when there is so much stuff in that tiny place that one has to be careful to not knock anything over because it could just collapse and it would take days to discover one's remains.
hmm... maybe not.
books. i think books win.
made sure that there are at least four book stores in a ten block radius from me...
and now i am also entering some of them here into vox, as they enter my humble library (which needs more shelves desperately.) and i wish i could enter books in some more ways than just what i can get from amazon.
i got this nice little green lady book today and one little one about jean prouvé and ray and charles eames, but they do not really exist as such on amazon.
oh well.
the web gives the illusion of being everything there is, while in fact it often is just a bit of a scratch on things.
some of the gentlest, smartest people might quite likely never appear here.
the most wonderful moments of the most perfect days will never be recorded here. (they won't)
even i am not here. ; )
oh internet, you tiny little baby thing.
; )
does one actually shop for books?
What's your favorite way to keep in touch? Phone, snail mail, email, text message, Vox, _____ ?
telepathy. telepathy might be the form of communication i use most. and it is incredibly unreliable... perfect.
email is probably the best way to get in touch with me, but do i reply to emails? ahem. i really try to. but then... there are all these unreplied to messages in my mail box...
phones are great. especially those with voice mail. i am really good about receiving voice mails. and i also save them every 21 days for another 21 days or so. and so i still have the happy birthday message from 2 years ago which i get to hear about once a month. a treat.
snail mail. hmm... i do have a drawer of stamps. i do send out little letters sometimes.
text messages... they do scare me a tiny bit, because i go on im so rarely that when i actually show up, i tend to get attacked by a whole group of people (oh, and i am on my name #n)
vox... yeah... vox is getting better and better for me these days. i have a very tiny circle of people who even have access to my entries. and no one is forced to reply to anything. this works...
oh, and i am also okay in person. i hope. i think i am...
wait, the question of the day was "the best way to reach me?" oh... any of the above will work fantastically well. really. awesomely so.
or at least it will, once i start get any messages again... : )
and did i mention nabaztag?
