Amy Cutler's first exhibition in Europe is yet another tour de force of this New York artist. Her most ambitious project to date is a drawing turned sculpture, is a sculpture grown from hundreds smaller sculptures of women, each one individual and unique and yet connected, physically and by more subtle references anchored in Cutler's world.
Link to Reina Sofia's page for the exhibition. (Spanish and English versions available.)
it was fun to find the bunny just by
various maps and landscape hints from other photographs. It is cute
now, but wait for another 10 years and it is going to be a smelly,
dangerous, moldy pile of straw... or maybe, actually, a beautiful
mountain of flowers and trees? It could go either way. (Or both at the
same time.)
I missed the gelitin (or, gelatin) performance at Leo König's
gallery. That copy machine performance and the bunny are maybe their
favorite projects of mine... some of the other stuff hits the wrong
bone in me somehow. Or maybe I just need to grow up a little more... or
a little less... who knows.
It would be so cool if vox could somehow have google earth
integration... hmm... though, how would that be helpful... and to whom?
why do i even have google earth open this early in the morning? I
should be walking my nintendog. or something more useful. and it is
getting late on this wednesday morning. better run... now.
